Defining Drought

July 19, 2011

The colt whinys high and long startling me out of my morning haze. My thoughts thick with drought caused dirt. How we handle drought defines us on many levels.
We need to utilize the drought for what we can gain by it…

  • *In financial drought we can become more creative and thrifty. We can also gain compassion for people who have less then what we are accustomed to, then when the drought passes we can bless others with a greater passion.
  • *In artistic drought we can learn the nuances of our craft… how the colors blend with different techniques. We can read more instead of write. We can encourage other artists.
  • *In spiritual drought we learn patience. We can fine tune our ear to hear the Voice which will lead us. We are given so many gifts, perhaps in those dry spells we should pour into the giftings we already have.

Drought can help and hurt. It can burn off things/plants I wanted there.
How will we be defined in any of lifes droughts?
Will we act like all hope is gone…having forgotten of the blessings which got us here? Will we gather our energy unto ourselves not wanting anyone else to see us weak?
or
Will we crane our neck back and look up….way up….and embrace the beaming son and all it brings? Knowing we will only be made better?

Thoughts?~T

listen to the sound of Hope that’s rising, over your old horizon, listen to the sound, listen to the sound. And listen to sound of the new beginning – this is where the old is ending…listen to the sound listen to the sound…wherever you are.

Love that song and hum it often when I feel that things are getting “dry”.

Love that song… I think you think in music.
