What Irene looks like….
For now here is my just a brief list of what I am so thankful for…
- A sensible husband who would say we have to evacuate.
- No traffic.
- Safe travels.
- amazing people staying at our home while we are gone.
- Getting to spend time eating good food
- fun conversation
- strengthening relationships
- building ties with each other.
- movies on demand during the storm.
- okay…okay….so the kittens aren’t that bad.
Here are some of the folks we had staying at our house, much younger then us… but
so
much
fun.
Think Christmas vacation with everyone just eating and talking and passing around babies. (sigh) Here is a glimpse of my weekend:
Be back with more pics of how Hurricane Irene forever changed our vacation!!! ~T
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Updated Pictures~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are a few pictures of what condition the beach is in. It usually has dunes with regular dune fence. The fence nearest the ocean: gone. The beach has no slope. It just is a flat plane. Which is amazing for our baby who now feels totally comfortable with the sweet tide pools complete with an array of shells to satisfy any beach comber….
Now that’s the way I like to ride out a Hurricane….”everyone just eating and talking and passing around babies.”
I’ll be back for those forever changed vacation pics. =)
and nothing is better then sweet happy babies….
with dimples…
and chubby smiles…
and the wind blowing but no one hears it over the laughter and good music!
Glad you stopped by.
Sometimes a storm, loss of power, etc. can be the best thing for relationships. It causes us to slow down and spend time with one another. Def. thankful for this.
you are hitting the nail on the head.
Glad all is safe…and all can become a gift..
Blessings~
Oh and this is the prefect example of such!
Totally did not want to leave my vacation…but I just had a great time
It really was just an extension of my vacation.
Best not to have a bad attitude… but go curious to see what God has planned.
So much devastation from the storm…it’s refreshing to read of some good coming from it.
Stopped by from Ann’s list, I think. So glad you came through the storm not just all right but even better for the experience! Grace and peace to you in Christ.
OH, my goodness, where are you? So grateful you are safe and sound and the babies too! Your linky over at my site is not working but i”m going to see if I can fix it. My apologies for being so late to visit this week. So much love to you!
Well…in trying to fix your old link, I accidentally added it to my new post this week! I hope you don’t mind. If you would like to add another, please feel free. Don’t mind me and my techno challenges…
Always glad to hear of good stories coming out of things like bad weather! A tornado hit our town last night. Grateful that our friends and family-and our home- are safe. Glad yours are too. 🙂
glad you are safe.
be blessed,
