How to find Rest.

September 2, 2011

There it sits

right there out in the open,

and we blaze by;

rest.

Have you felt rest in the midst of chaos?

When a year of preparation finally is “never allowed to go asunder” with the seal of a kiss….that walk down the aisle together.

When you stand with an angry toddler and a crying baby… a trusted friend lets you deal with the toddler and holds your baby.

When you have a baby and everyone finally leaves …. you  poke your finger into the teeny curl of a fist grasped with promise.

When you walk into a hotel uncertain after two years of working an adoption….. they wrap their arms around you cheering.

When your house is a mess and cars of company are en route….. your daughter quietly works the broom across the crumbs.

When you walk into a hospital hallway flanked with your brothers and sister….as you walk you feel it.

When your day has been long and filled with tension….the kiss before you fall asleep.

That  weighted hand on your shoulder.

The  secret squeeze of a hand.

That kiss before bed.

sink into it.

It’s rest.

Did you do a Five Minute Friday?  I would love to read it!  Please leave a comment so I can find you.  If you don’t write 5minute fridays on your blog…just let me know what you think of REST….Can’t wait to hear from you!!!!~T
