How to Receive when you don’t know how.
This morning I go out…
just
not
feelin it.
But I know the willing are the ones who get something…and I am willing.
I am willing to show up and to walk around aimlessly….
this song lodged partially in my thoughts.
A picture here… one there…
watching
willing to show up
looking for something
There are no rocks…no shells. The beach is wiped clean and smooth.
No Pray.Bow.Walk. to guide my meditation.
So I stand there on the stormy shore and look around.
my shutter trying to capture……. something?
.
.
.
.
.
I ask for…” something exciting”… maybe a baby dolphin…(true story)
Not sure why I thought baby dolphin… but I did.. I am not a dolphin person… it just blurted to mind…
I laughed to myself that I must really need some help.
I just could not get into it.
just not feelin it.
how?
I literally pulled my feet from the sinking sand and started walking
and praying
with purpose.
I let nothing distract me
I recite something which helps me structure my thoughts and prayers…
“I stand in a throne room of Intense Power…..I come for the newness…. your mercies are new every morning… You are a Creator … I can gather nothing new without You…
I want to receive…”
Receive?
I turn the word over in my mind like a pearly shell.
receive.
Like a shell washed up on a bare beach.
Receive.
ReeeeeCeive.
Receive
Where would I put anything I was about to Receive? My hands so full with all this silliness.
silliness.
Like a thud I drop it around me.
Nothing….Nothing… NOTHING! is worth carrying in exchange for not Receiving.
NOTHING!
Thud. Thud.
like barnacles.
Thud. Thud. It’s all crap.
crap.
Nothing is worth not Receiving.
My mind practically yells..
“I stand in a throne room of Intense Power… ready to receive…Standing here in a throne room ready to gather all the newness You have ready for me….
all that You would have me Receive…”
~
~It’s no mystery to me that the first things I saw this morning were dump trucks perfectly poised to receive…The silver light at the horizon line is promise. A promise that if I show up I will be rewarded…and the baby dolphin was just impossible to catch with my camera, but the rest of his pod seemed willing to be filmed… but what is the man with the number 17? I know it was important…what was that? So I ask you to give me your interpretation of that picture. Bounce some ideas around …I would love to think about it with you. T
LOVE THIS. Treasure map.
“And we know ALL things work together for the good for those who Love God and are called according to His purpose” (I almost wrote Porpoise!lol) The first thing that came to me when I saw the 17 was matthew 1:7 which is the genealogy of Jesus.
Everyone perfectly purposed to bring the greatest gift of all. So much imperfection brought the Perfect one. The One we receive is the greatest gift of all.
Which brings me to the point of yesterday. You may be the one to bring salvation to that house.
so much to think about. you are like that game we used to play as kids with those treasure trees…heart you.
ohhh…love how you got the 17 split into a matt 1:7. cool interpretation!
you know I loved Enchanted forrest as a kid!

you have a great heart.. your words affirm the goodness of your heart. you make God happy, He can speak through a heart like yours

You are sweet to say so!
T
When we stand with open hearts to receive, I believe he always comes through and honors that humble plea. Loved the dolphins.

This is beautiful – so glad you linked it up to Soli Deo Gloria today! So, the other day, I read Jeremiah 17: 7, so that is what I thought of when you said 17 —
“But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.”
ohhh love it!
Thanks for taking the time to pass that on!

This is just gorgeous. You make me want to open my eyes and see more of the beauty that He puts in my path everyday that my eyes are so often closed to. Thank you for that.
Oh good..it’s somethingGod showed me about 3ish years ago…and it works.

I love it when God “plays” with us! He is an amazing God!
It’s really all about conversation./
