To Glorify

September 20, 2011

I remove my self from the equation.

My self is in the way.

Looking down at my self I am not looking forward….or up.

It’s the best trick ever played.

It’s the snake in the grass.

We tend self like a beautiful garden… but it’s a snake.

You are blinded.

I am blinded.

We feed self a fruit convinced to us by a snake.

We worry if we look away that we will loose our self in …in….in what?

We could be

so

lucky

to loose our self

stop and pray, “be glorified”

feel the shift.

feel the light

a defining Light.

To glorify in any situation is to lay down all selfs expectations.

Be defined by the Light.

I am really curious to see how others respond to this subject.
It was hard to translate effectively.

This really speaks to me in my current season of life. I am studying to become a lay pastor and we are preparing our first sermons to be evaluated as we deliver the to our classmates. I am surprised at how nervous I can get if I think on my self too long! But…if I remember: it’s not about me–there is such a sense of peace. Removing the self. A tricky business sometimes. Thank you for this!

Great in the eyes of the Lord is so different from great in the eyes of the world. Our Jesus hearts battle with our sinful flesh; pride ebbs and flows. It’s such a battle to die to self. Thank you for this post.
