Hope is Faiths sidekick
I go through my day and it seems I am being punished for something I did not do.
The feeling when you are a child and you get in trouble…but you didn’t do it.
I feel that way all day.
I plod through
I clean rooms piled high with the trappings from our vacation mingled with signs of changing seasons.
Our laundry room a mix of muddy boots and sandy beach towels.
I hope for more but Hope is Faith’s pitiful little side kick.
Faith stands strong.
Hope is a weak glimmer….. what you have before Faith comes in.
A hope to get us all to the end of this day and to start anew tomorrow
then I hear it…
a little girl melting down in the dining room….and one crying at the piano.
Both say they don’t know why.
A baby in my wake follows me like an angry immigrant.
I come down the stairs thinking how will I steer us all to the end of this day.
I hear it right there in my thoughts….
I.
The last step down changes the course of our day….
“only You be glorified…” I breathe out as both feet stand stable .
Each child being gently righted before I go through the rooms.
I hear through sweaty little sincere breaths ” I didn’t want to hurt your feelings momma…I just….
miss….dad.”
little shoulders sink. I help her finish up her work and she goes out with the others.
Bursting out happy again.
The piano starts to sound less like it’s falling down a flight of stairs and more purposeful.
practice starting in hope ending in Faith assured
be glorified
the shift has begun
be glorified…only You.

Your words complemented beautifuly by your photos, is the first I read this morning!
“To glorify in any situation is to lay down all selfs expectations.” Amen
What a beautiful thought…I’ve totally been there…focusing on “me”, then I come to the realization that it’s NOT me. Thank you for that reminder once again.
Blessings…visiting from Studio JRU

What a beautiful post! So glad you linked up at Studio JRU!
This is such a sweet post…and I love the art…(as always) – smiles…somehow I haven’t paid attention that you also homeschool? I love your nature center, if that is what those cute square shelves are?!?! I am going to check out your later posts!
Blessings…
First thank you again for the compliment…you are so encouraging. It resonates in me each time you say it! (Huge smile)
Yes we homeschool…never really thought of myself as the type.. but we have been doing it pretty well for a few years.
Before we began homeschooling we were more into Waldorf education…so we have a lot of influence from those times….hence the nature table and wood carvings…and well anything the kids haul in or find.
Thanks for coming by!

A lovely post, reminding me of God’s grace for the times when I’m stretched thin with my own three little ones. Thanks you!
Faith stands strong… I just love that! A great reminder when we have these days. Your nature table looks amazing! 🙂
Oh thanks…
I am about to go back into my wood shop and create some new animals for the season.
Don’t know what kind just yet.

This was a lovely post, T 🙂 I had to giggle when you said: “The piano starts to sound less like it’s falling down a flight of stairs and more purposeful.” I can hear it! I loved you watercolor with the scripture, too.
