We all went to W.A.R. on Sunday.
Tears in our eyes reading stories of women…sisters half a world away trying to escape the world of human trafficking.
Words choked in our throats as we watched a video about the reality of women and children enslaved in horrible conditions.
We went to W.A.R. on Sunday.

My aunt hosted this get together. As woman gathered in her home we wanted to do more.
Standing in her dining room…what can I do?
I stood looking down at the table covered in jewelry.
I pulled up a bracelet crafted by one woman….one woman with my daughter’s name.
Yen.
My daughter which I traveled half a world away to ensure her safety…
I traced my daughter’s name.
I imagined this woman just trying to create something beautiful with the life she probably thought had been so ugly…

I wanted to tell her ,

I have walked through beautiful museums covered in only the best the world has to offer.

But your craft..

your art…

Your art has moved me to tears.”

Please consider hosting a W.A.R. Party in your home. Definitely go and check out their site
W.A.R.International Store.

In full disclosure I would like you to know I am not receiving anything in exchange for this …I just feel it’s important for us all to be aware of the impact human trafficking is having on this world. If one of the ways you can bring awareness is to gather together and shop for holiday gifts…I am just glad that people aren’t sweeping it under the rug.~T

Oh great! Thanks to both of you.
It’s really tricky bringing up the very real issue of human trafficking… But in this type of environment we have the opportunity to present the problem to a wealth of woman who can do something about it!
    Thank you both!

I wanted to tell you about a wonderful Christian organization that brings the traffickers to justice. It is called the International Justice Mission and it is made up of ex-ambassadors, CIA agents, FBI agents, interpreters, congress people, police officers, lawyers…those who know how to bring justice to bad situations. Their focus is human trafficking. They go into areas of the world at the invitation of missionaries and church leaders to bring justice. They go so the missionaries are free to proclaim the Gospel rather than spend their time trying to bring traffickers to justice. Such work demands experience and focus which those working for IJM have.

Thanks for bringing this big issue to the fore. I am praying that the W.A.R. parties do well.

PS I also wrote a blog called Wondering about Wandering, great minds????

Hello, this is Kay. I am actually the women who runs Thai Safe House #5 as shown in your picture above.

Personally, I would like to thank you for your great write up about W.A.R.’s products and purpose. Without W.A.R.’s support, I wouldn’t be able to support 12 women and 10 kids, at this time. My dream is to double this number. And with every purchase of one of our products, that dream comes a step closer to reality. God is at work in Thailand!

If you have the opportunity, W.A.R. has a “Circle Tour 2012.” They will visit our safe house and the safe house in which your turquoise bracelet was made. I think there is still time to sign up for it.

    May God Bless You,
    Kay

      Kay,
I am so…So blessed that you would take the time to comment on my blog. I am so glad you are standing in the gap for the women in crisis. I know a bit what that is like and can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like in your country.
I am touched by your invitation to visit your safe house. I have been prayerfully considering it…. if not this year… perhaps another. I know you will be doing this for a long time.
Again… THANK YOU for doing what you do and for taking the time to spend time with me here.
      Be Blessed.
      T
