Who did you kill….
Tears in my eyes when I click on today’s word….
Ordinary.
When you live the ordinary life you kill children and women.
You kill them.
You do.
Tucked away in ordinary homes and ordinary lives you kill thousands.
In ordinary homes lining ordinary streets you allow the orphans to grow up with no hope of home.
Orphans begin as abandoned children …. They become orphans when ordinary people don’t come for them.
In the ordinary life you walk by starving babies you turn your head to the woman chained in slavery.
These women and children are NOT suffering because of the evil…. but because the ordinary people ignore and think someone else will handle it….someone “more led”.
As if someone needs “to be led” to stop violence.
In the ordinary life ,this “receiving from God” is too complicated to figure out,
better left to someone more “gifted”.
As if we all weren’t gifted grace….
and that is enough to make us set out to do anything…ANYTHING.
How many more chairs in church must we all warm until we are qualified to stop living the ordinary?
How many more sermons must we hear so we can get up and live Extraordinary lives?
Everyone says that Jesus used the ordinary…
but that was their last day as ordinary….He called them out of ordinary…
He has called us out of the ordinary.
If you are still in the ordinary…didn’t you hear Him call?
If there was a book written about the Spiritual Stories of our time….would we burn with embarrassment when we read the ordinary life we led?

Thank you for your raw and honest look at this word. How often do I use “ordindary” as a crutch to do less than that to which I have been called?
The fact that you know you have a calling is a move in the right direction..

That was awesome! I couldn’t agree more… the lord desires for us to step up and be the solutions, no matter how “ordinary” or “unqualified” we may think we are. One of my favorite quotes is this:
“The Lord does not ask about my abilility, nor my inability, but only about my availability. And if I prove my dependability… the lord will take care of my capabilities.”
I think if this qoute every time the lord calls me to do something. I remember, that a 17 year old peasant girl, Joan of Arc, did something that men of noble positions and stature failed to do for over 100 years prior – she freed France from British opression. so it all comes down to being WILLING!!!

yehaa..that is it..you nailed it. the church of america wants everyone to be the nice “don’t rock the boat” people..but the plain truth is “ordinary”… some day will be our last day to be something .. something that will be out of the ordinary.. as the book of matthew 25…God will separate people into two groups..sheep and goats…those that saw people in need and did not take care of them won’t be called ordinary anymore they will be those that are called goats. and you can read the chapter incase you aren’t sure what happens to them.
