Love Tank.
On a rainy day I herd everyone into the car.
Wet shoes flip over the middle seat as kids pile into a vehicle big enough for our large family of nine.
I haul the baby into her massive car seat and buckle in what seems an endless supply of buckles and latches….as she clucks to be given her cup of milk. “Sorry honey, no milk yet. We have to go to the Amish farm and buy it,” I say as I snap the last part of her harness.
Running through the rain back into the house…forgot my keys….and purse.
As I walk back out it starts to rain hard. I should have bought milk while my husband was in town… now all these errands have to be done in the rain…..
with 7 kids…oh well.
UGH!
and it hits me…
I was totally out of fuel yesterday.
So now I need to add stop for gas onto the list of things to do…
in
the
rain.
I start the car and quiet the kids.
As I go to put it in reverse, it catches my eye.
There it is…
an oh so hot
super sexy
love note from my husband
no words
just one letter
it is the F word.
I don’t know when or how he did it… we were all so busy yesterday.
His flight left so early.
All I know is I am loved.
My tank is full.

good man
he better be, lol.
T
THAT
IS
SO
AWESOME.
Those silent gifts behind the scenes…
i know! I still can’t figure out when he would have had time.
T
oh I love this!
Last week my man did the same for me! You have no idea how this blessed me, reading your entry today… I MUST show it to my husband 🙂
Isn’t God good!
absolutely!
T
Oh yes! Praise God, yes.
The love of a quiet servant.
My husband has done that too, and I just showed him your post and told him, you’ve done that for me. Thanks for passing on that blessing!
IT so important for others to know when they are appreciated.
T
A loving husband…such a sweet gift from God…so great you did not take this simple act of kindness for granted…
Great day to you T…blessings~
Oh you better believe I didn’t take it for granted… lol…matter of fact I took the picture just because I was so touched.
T
Fantastic. Fabulous. Thought I’d add a few more Fs here. 🙂
I’m famous (another F) for forgetting to fill ‘er up. 🙂
I don’t actually forget to fill it up… I hate pumping fuel.
lol.
T
How do you spell love . . . F! I bet that act of love made it a lot easier to run errands in the rain! Showers of blessing to you and yours, T.
what a blessing. I love when my man comes home with 2 gal of milk as I use the last drop.
oh absolutely. Just the thought of having to go pump fuel in the rain was enough to make me want to bag the whole days errands.
T
I love this! What a beautiful act of service to show his love.
lol.. I will never think of the F word the same again.
T — what a build-up! I was so relating with the awful, hectic morning that I was tickled and surprised by the love-note. Yay! Great writing. Happy marriages (in spite of the craziness of life) thrill me!
oh me too.
such a simple thing.. .but in a hectic time when I am the only parent in charge something as simple as that says we are still a team and he is looking out for me.
swoon.
T
Am I the only one who did a double take about the “F” word when I read this? He left you a super sexy and super simple note…F*#$? I mean, that would be a very direct way to say I love you but, hey, however you guys chit chat amongst yourselves is your biizzznasss.
Ok, I must be the only one who went to public school and still thinks the “F” word as something else. Butttttttttttttttt, FULL as in GAS, that is way more awesome. Happy for you. No one likes to stop for gas in the rain.
Sa-man-tha!…
oh samantha you mild mannered piano teacher… leave it to you to spell it out for everyone.
(shaking my head and lol!)
love you!
T
I won’t leave Samantha hangin — yeah, had the same thought about the “F” word initially. But, like her, was relieved and blessed with how it turned out!
Your post reminded me of a quote by Mother Teresa, “We can do no great things; only small things with great love.”
Those are words to live by. Especially in marriage.
Beautiful story.
Thanks!
So true… really! I mean think about how many selfless things you must do in a days time … it’s nice when someone goes out of their way to do something nice they didn’t have to do.
The man is a fuel ninja.
T
I just laughed so hard I probably woke at least one kid. THIS IS CLASSIC! A story well told, indeed. Thank you so much for sharing with me.
Mine said “I love you” with an F just yesterday morning! Isn’t it wonderful to be loved!
🙂
