Grow as a Worshipper.
Todays 5min Friday word is Grow!
Keeping with this week’s theme of Heavy Breathing and my Anniversary:
GO!
In these years we are learning a great piece of music.
But like any music you really want to play well.. it starts out more like someone throwing an instrument down a flight of stairs.
But each of us were given the heart of a worshiper…every.single.one. of us.
One of the best pieces of advice we ever received was by my dad…
“Marriage is about waking up every day and realizing it’s not about you…it’s about you serving the other person and because of this you will be happy”
It’s been all growth. You never grow as a musician when you demand to play the wrong note…when the perfect note is right there waiting to be played.
You have to search your heart…the heart of a growing worshipper… you have been built to worship..
your marriage has to sound like a song of worship.
As we grow (and keep growing every.single.day) we have realized how to better compliment each other and how to be happy in each others happiness. That sometimes means not getting what we want individually but through the other person’s happiness we all sound better. All about learning the notes better so each note is complimented…which together sounds like music.
One note being played is not music…it’s droning and obnoxious.
Each argument ….well let’s be honest… and yelling match that has ever happened is all just chords of music not practiced… not understood…
We need to take another look at how this all should be played so that we don’t want to rip our own ears off…
Sometimes you drop the music entirely…all the pages mixed up… notes a jumbled mess..everything sounding a mess.
Pick back up your song…and look at it…you …you both were made for this…to sound like…
something beautiful…
and when this music we have been asked to play..
with each other…
with our children…
as a couple but as a family…
if it doesn’t sound like Worship…
then we need to practice the music until it grows to sound like music for a King.
We are all built to sound like worshippers.
lol..can I hear an AMEN!
If you wrote a 5min friday I would love to read it… please leave a comment so I can find my way back to you!~T

Amen! Love your 5 minute words here. Growth and joy – they come from serving, don’t they? Not always easy, but always good.
Thanks Jaime,
Absolutely thanks for adding to it!

AMEN! I’ve learned that marriage is about making a conscious choice each day to love my husband, to serve Him, and to honor Him throughout my day. It’s a choice I have to make EVERY day, because I’m a sinner and the easy way for me is to just think about ME. But, something beautiful happens when my husband and I seek to serve each other – we make this beautiful melody you speak of. 🙂
A simple but yet complicated truth.
