The meaning of Color and salt.

December 9, 2011

Today’s 5 Minute Friday word is Color… and well that makes me think of many things…

*how the different hues of skin color in our large  family get us funny looks from people who need to  figure us out..

*or I think of how I have synesthesia and it causes every touch to wash my brain in a color… how I read people as if they are a color…

*But what I have been concentrating the most on…is how salt effects my colors when I am painting.  I am trying to interpret the meaning in it for me…and there is meaning.  I can feel it.

So I keep painting…and spreading the salt and trying to see what is happening.

Do you and that adorable little one paint together? It looks like she has her own set of watercolors. The colors blend so magically for you!!!

Oh she has her own set… There is an endless collection of water paint sets in this house…but that one is hers.and there is no painting alone…they swarm.

The salt looks like ice crystals from here! Nice experiments.

I know I totally wanted to just leave the salt on the trees…like those science experiments where you” grow rocks”

yes its great… I know I am supposed to “get” something from it… so I keep pouring the salt and trying to “See” something.

That tree painting is lovely, the streaky sunset and hopeful branches are beautiful.

ya know? I liked it much better with the salt still on it… it was a downer when I scraped all the salt off.
      Thanks,

that is about the most intriguing thing I have ever read; reading people as a color.

    • December 11, 2011 9:58 am

whoa…really? 🙂 what is intriguing about it?
I guess it is…although the day I found out other people don’t experience the same thing I was dumbfounded… I kept asking my friend…so what do you “see” in your brain when it happens…and she said…”nothing”… and I thought that was sad so I started asking lots of people and they all said the same thing….then years later I saw something on 60minutes and I had a name for it.
      🙂

    • December 12, 2011 1:36 pm

yeah I dunno…it’s like painting isn’t “enough” I need to constantly be in a state of experimentation…with no real end result it mind…just to see
