Panning for what is Precious
Sometimes all you can do is interpret your surroundings.
You see the X and you know there has to be something of value
So you walk like someone who has already been given the entire treasure, you bring all the tools you have…. because you know it brings Him joy.
~
But the crazy thing about the journey is it won’t always be to what we thought we were going to get.
Yet the showing up… the willingness to gather all that He has for you… it’s all obedience. There will be reward in this.
As you pan for what is precious… you may find what you came for is not what you will leave with.
Because if what happened 2000 years ago can forgive you of every sin you have yet to commit…. and it can.
then
It can win every battle you have yet to fight…
and
It can also win every treasure you have yet to find.
The walking into all conflict, all hunts for treasure and knowing you have won… is only part of it…
this “Joy of the Lord being your strength”, it comes from you enjoying the people you are around.
The community of family and friends He has picked out of the whole world to place you in the midst.
This also brings Him Joy.
So many things to be thankful for… but can I share a few….
1.Friends safe and sound and back with good words to share.
2.Hearing confirmation on revelation that I am getting.
3.Spicy hummus and cool cucumbers…so mentally soothing.
4.a nice homeschool rhythm
5.every last stitch of holiday decorations packed away.
6.My children actually do wake up and call me blessed…every.single.day.
7.a warm weekend in January.
8.tons of warm nature walks…in January.
9.door kicked open wide and kids playing tag, coats strewn on the deck…on a warm Saturday in January.
10.girls who want to plant daffodil gardens.
11.london broil and tomatoes on the grill for family dinner.
12.the love of my life bringing me brie and crackers after he comes home.
Such a beautiful, gentle reminder that we don’t always get God’s message in a single, clear moment. It is there for us to find, but sometimes we have to be diligent and follow the clues.
I know that God is multi faceted… most everything He does have something for everyone and for every learner.
You can always pan for more treasure! 🙂

great pictures. it was a lovely day. a great friday.
you post reminds me of a song I heard on the cat in the hat knows a lot about that…
“follow the prints, follow the prints, who will know what creature we meet, follow the prints, follow the prints who will know what treasure we get!”
or something like that…
perfect example of something for every learner.
Thanks kells

Loved so much about this…especially “As you pan for what is precious… you may find what you came for is not what you will leave with.” and also “Because if what happened 2000 years ago can forgive you of every sin you have yet to commit…. and it can. then
It can win every battle you have yet to fight…” A profound, beautiful statement, one I need to remember and tuck inside my mind for those difficult times. Blessings!
I am so glad…in my groggy morning, hearing that from Him…was something I wanted to clutch forever for sure!

“Yet the showing up… the willingness to gather all that He has for you… it’s all obedience. There will be reward in this.” This is good encouragement for me in sooo many ways.
And BTW, thank you so much for penning such encouraging words on my Friday post. They meant more than you know. 🙂
Stacie.. I don’t just say things 🙂
You can see it all over you!
