Words Aptly Spoken (with paint)

February 4, 2012

I need an opinion…could you spare one?….Which one do you prefer?…

The Purple Salted One

~*~

The Sunny Slanted One

~*~

The Bird and Golden Apple One

~*~

Which one do you like… I am not sure if I really like the one or I should scrap them all and try again… Maybe pick them apart and build a better painting?
I want to use this phrase specifically.
If you really like one then just Pin It

I think you could have done better…….

I keed! I keed! I love the last one. I love the folksy bird and that golden apple…and the vines growing deep…it’s beautiful.
but you might wanna “rock that font , rock it inside out …..”

    • February 4, 2012 8:58 am

you are right I wanted it to be “free flowing” and it go a little out of hand.

I like the first one and I think the bird from #3 would fit into it just perfectly. Of course this is just my opinion, which is what you asked for . . . birdie is just so gorgeously folk arty.

    • February 4, 2012 2:32 pm

I am so glad you chimed in.
I think it is obvious that by number three I was starting to get what I wanted… or get in the groove…
folk arty is probably accurate.. I just always think I am painting as if I had a say in what birds at my feeders would like.

I like the first one pretty well, but I think my favorite would be the third one without the greenery on the bottom (or the greenery smaller). The bird is fantastic, and I like the compactness of the words in it.
    Good luck!

you know it’s funny you say that… I wanted the roots…and then I sort of grew those green things out of the roots…
perhaps I should have stopped with the roots!

I like the bird and the golden apple best. Fabulous bird! And please don’t scrap them!!! If you’re not happy…just keep adding elements until you are!

wow I never thought of that…I mean it.. never dawned on me to just keep going…seems obvious as soon as you said it!:)

I like the first one AND the bird and apple. I like the colors of the first and the charming little bird on the 3rd. What does this verse mean to you? Why’d you pick this one?

    • February 6, 2012 8:39 am

I like the verse because it’s applicable to everyone.. whatever you believe.
and because it was given to me
      🙂

my favorite is the bottom. Go ahead and add some yellow green in the bottom left and upper right of it.Similar to your stem leaf colors. That will bring the continuous color pallette through it. Take a peek at the apples I did on my artwork tab. You will see how the apples have red yellow ochre and green in them, Also, add some of the bright blue in the edges of your leaves. Wet round brush with pigment only in the tip. Should add some pop to it. LOVE LOVE LOVE the bird. Keep up the great work. hugs.

I Went to you your site and checked out the apples.. wow they are so realistic.
      really impressive.
      Thank for the advice.

you are welcome. Thank you for the compliment. Ive been wanting to clear off my drafting table and paint but life just keeps spinning like a merry go round and I cant get much done. (I wish I could show you what I meant about adding the blue as I KNOW you would love what it does to your leaves. Im amazed at how a “wrong color” seems so right sometimes.)Now after an exhausting day I cant sleep. Tomorrow will be a doozy. its all grace….

I really like the Bird and the Golden Apple! That bird is beautiful and I just love love the roots coming from the leaves!

  9. February 4, 2012 11:09 pm

Number 3 was my favorite because of the bird…and I loved all the elements! Someone mentioned “rocking the font” and someone else said keep going till you like it…YES! Also, when I looked at the picture, I didn’t “see” that the words were in an apple, it just looked like a decorative box for the words…so maybe make it into an ornate apple that doubles as a word box? I don’t know, except I love this bird style you have been doing lately!

PS – I “pinned” it too!

It’s like a dang aviary around here with these bird paintings.
someone saw them and asked for a stack of different ones…so I birds are everywhere
Why not put a bird in these, lol..

yes yes.. I agree with you.
I think , since font isn’t a strong point, I should really change and rearrange what I do with it.
sadly I think I liked it better without the words.

They are all charming – maybe the bottom one with the bird I like the best – but I like them all.

I love each one… but… the bird is exquisite! Remember though that they are ALL ‘beautiful’ each one unique and worthy… DO NOT DISCARD ANY 🙂
( I have spoken ) I love the smears in the one and the sun in the other and the bird… but all parts work together successfully!
