Fruits are Blooming

Fruits are in bloom.

Blueberries and strawberries are covered in flowers.

The crinkly ole rhubarb is deepening in color.

The apple trees are just bursting with pinky white blossoms.

The sleepy grapes have their little leafy fists curled red waiting for just the right time to unfurl.

Everywhere I look everything is prospering …just as it should.

But no matter how you watch for it… a parent weed will leave seeds behind.  So even when you know you extracted all the thistles…. you shouldn’t be surprised to find an angry thorny little thistle demanding your attention.  As a gardener you may want to devote your time just to the things which you planted.  But gardening is a task…and there are uncomfortable parts of all tasks.    If you sometimes garden barefoot…and I do…then somedays you will find your afternoons annoyed by pulling out the little thistley barbs which have caught in your skin.  Those thistles demand attention… you can’t just leave them to grow like a dandelion.   And I don’t know exactly what it is about those little barbs… but even after you pull them out ,the spot they sank into, stays tender… but whadya gonna do (shrug) stop gardening?

You just pull out those barbs…and you keep doing what you love.

Then turn around and grab a bottle of white vinegar and pour it on the thistle…the end.

Off to PFW tonight and I excited to see what happens. It’s like coming out to the garden after a sunny day and a soaking rain…what will have popped up! So feel free to come out…I hope to see you there…we can gather all that He has for us…together.~T
