Community in Sharing

He spoke to me about community 4 years ago…. “remember who brings you soup when you stand in the hospital… remember who shows up with flip flops on…who sleeps on the uncomfortable waiting room sofas..remember who prays with you…note who is community”… I haven’t forgotten this.

But I never imagined what would actually happen.

Now we have this community …some weekends 30 strong …Nature Walking together… taking Communion together…sharing meals…speaking truth.

This community is so multi faceted…everyone doing so much in their own lives…new babies, new houses, new relationship with Him, new jobs…in less then two months we will have our first wedding in our group!

This community isn’t the conventional….

but  we all have a strong common need…To grow in Him.  To gather what He has for us.

But the most important thing I have learned so far… It  isn’t always about listening to each other…

but sharing of yourself… and failing to do that causes disconnect.

So I want to encourage you this weekend… to call a few numbers, text  a few friends…have them bring someone too…. sit, eat!,  listen, … but also share.  Give each other a reason to call  and check on the things that are going on in your life…Have a reason to call them and find out what is happening with them!

Unless your sharing is about where you hid a body… you really have nothing to be scared about.

If you give nothing…. you will get nothing.

In the sharing of food…of love… of lives… of struggles…of accomplishments…

In sharing all this…you will find true community!
