My Ponderings in Bold.
~
Just a little of this and that today. Still pondering many things, many deep …some thoughts are just about how that little difference of a yellow stripey squash got in my garden. Or how that watermelon better hurry up if it is going to grow in this season. Other things like the girls asking me how I can tell if the rabbit is a girl or boy…. and then explaining how I can discern what I see. Then teaching the girls that the rabbit bites because of fear…and if you remove the fear and shield it’s eyes it calms down and doesn’t bite and scratch… how it will barely react at all. How things often react in fear.
A peaceful heart will rarely react in lashing out.
Which led to the next conversation between sisters. How in camp one sister told may have told her friend a story she should not have. It was definitely not hers to tell. She thought the camp friend would think it was funny. I asked her if her camp friend laughed…”yes”.
“did your sister laugh?”
“no”
hmmm…. perhaps we should make a rule, a code. I looked at the other sister…”do you know embarrassing stories about your younger sister? Did you tell them to the friend?” With big eyes the other sister said she didn’t tell any stories and she knew plenty of very embarrassing stories, as she quickly rattled off a list. So we decided that telling other peoples stories is more embarrassing to the sister telling the tale then to the person it is about.. because then everyone knows that sister isn’t to be trusted. We shook on the new found code and everyone forgave each other and all was well…as kids will do.
I came around the cherry tree to this little lady. “Just washing my hair momma.”
and then
I found a lost shoe. (which all mothers know is God’s gift to mothers…finding the lost)
It’s the perfect kind of day to walk with your thoughts and process.
Another lovely post as usual. Enjoyed the pictures of your family and home.
oh my goodness… thank you so much.
you are so sweet.

Beautiful post indeed. A blue shoe in the periwinkles. There should be a poem about that.
there should be a painting for that!
🙂

You read my mind! Once I clicked “post comment” that thought came to mind! Lets paint it for Friday! Just seeing the photo and knowing how glad you felt made me think of my mother. She used to make up little songs about ordinary things, my children even giggle about it now even as grown adults. Yes, she would have made a song for it!
I am in a very dark navy on navy painting mode lately…so perhaps it would be a good idea to break out into some other colors, lol.
your mother sounds wonderful.

Love your ‘this and that’ today, T! What a sweet family you have. Love the peek into your summer… and your garden! 🙂
I was just thinking about you today!
That is crazy!
Gold finches! Those are great pictures… did you use a tripod for those!?

Her photos were beautiful. I’ve been missing y’all. Made it to Kansas and back last week. Focusing on the few things I can muster the energy to do. It’s all grace……
I have barely had time to paint…busy busy.
IT is the rhythm of pre-fall.
