Listen.

Hear that?

all the things you hear…. He gave it to you.

Those modern contraptions, humming and thumping along….He gave it to you.

Those children…grandchildren…that spouse…entrusted to you

The silence of   a clean home… Or a loving spouse off at work… A blessing.

Take these small sounds… These moment of silence… And be thankful.

Enter in and hear just that… whatever it is.

Be thankful.

The heartbeat of a newborn.

The healthy kids fighting over who gets to go first.

We are given choices everyday…to breathe deep the gifts we are given and to exhale thankfulness.

It doesn’t just happen.

You are what you celebrate… so celebrate all the provision He has given.

So true. Our senses are a gift. At times silence is a gift and there are seasons where the sounds are gifts. The pitter patter of little feet, the laughter and busy ness of learning. (even the dirty dishes in the sink’ food to eat and healthy appetites)

Sometimes it’s so easy to get bogged down that we forget there are blessings in all things. Thanks for the reminder. I’m going to go sniff the fresh air in my grandchildren’s heads.
