Girls Art Night.
It all started with a welcome early morning text from a lifelong friend to a clutch of women who were all washing breakfast dishes. Just a drop of communication…and women went to work setting homes in order. All day everyone checked back to see if they could still come…others texted back they couldn’t reorganize no matter how they tried, “But next time!” Isn’t it amazing how easy dinners fly together when you know you are not going to be there. You could practically hear the woosh of aprons being shook out and hung on hooks as we walked out of our homes. The creativity swirling in each of us…often used to orchestrate a tidy home and well planned meals, to plan a garden or smooth tense relations…now given permission to run straight through paints and do what it craves.

This girl here… always true to her word…She took the opportunity to paint the picture I took a few weeks ago from this post. She popped her head up to offer a prophetic word or laugh along. We spoke of Divine Itinerary and what it means in our lives. I just enjoyed watching everyone. I must say I am waiting to paint again…when my studio is finished. So I was more than happy to sit back and doodle about.
The energy so safe and welcoming.
There is something so amazing when you can lock eyes with another woman…and see her offer you safety in return for your words. We as women have that ability to drowned or to lift up… it’s right there in our eyes..in our words. When we look deep you see it right there…a sword and an extended hand. One will cut you like no other, make you question who you are …. and the other can make you feel like you walk on water. You have seen it. You have it. You have that superpower to make others walk on water…. to walk safely across their own personal stormy seas. Let it be said of you… that you make others walk on water.

Sharing with the amazing Jennifer at StudioJRU, PPF and 5MinFriday.
Thank you for sharing. My hands are far less crafty than I would like for them to be, but I am so moved by your quote: “To use the gift God has put in you is to say, ‘My God exists in this.'” So grateful for that word of encouragement and challenge.
Oooo, I love art nights! Glad to have found you, we have a few favorite topics in common, “5min Friday, adoption, art, babies, boys, faith, farming, love, nature, prayer, writing…”
Someday I’m going to start a link up for faith journaling!
I love this “There is something so amazing when you can lock eyes with another woman…and see her offer you safety in return for your words.”
How fun! Great inspirations. 🙂
You slay me. This. This is beautiful. I need this. Haven’t painted in awhile but I have been knitting, creating with yarn.
Oh how wonderful, T! What a blessing to have a group of creative friends to spend time with. “Let it be said of you… that you make others walk on water”… love, love, love that!!!
hey thanks… ya know, anytime you are in the area you can come too!

Ah, there’s nothing quite as fun as doing something creative with friends! Looks like you had a great time and made some beautiful things! And thanks for the reminder that I’ve been meaning to do this sort of thing with my own friends – we used to do it, but it’s been a while… Going to have to make it happen!
well I am glad I could remind you…
the more art the better.

What a fun story you wove here and how much I enjoyed almost pretending to be one of the women who hung up her apron and hurried over to your house to join in the mass creation of fun things! They all are!
