What a Beautiful Day…

November 12, 2012

What a beautiful day.
What a beautiful community.
A wise friend always tells us we are what we celebrate…
so

We thought we would surprise them all.
So him and I, we grabbed our nine foot long dining room table and lugged it into the back yard.
While apple crumbles filled the house with cinnamony goodness we prepared to celebrate our friends  outside and how much they mean to us.

It was something so wonderful.
Each face that appeared…so excited…greeted by a cheer.
Our bellys filling with food and our hearts filling with love.
To look around the table and see these steadfast folks… we have all gone through so many things together in such a short time.
Always here for each other…not always agreeing but always loving.
Our differences not dividing but forcing us to grow.
Our weakness made safe in this group… prayed strong.

A table of worship and not one song sung.
No communion cup but a table full of all that He has done.. all in remembrance of Him.
His banner over this day… over us… all love.
Words can not do His beauty justice.

I am just so thankful… never in all my growing up did I think people like this existed.
Now gathered around my table…so many that I have had to gladly buy new chairs time and time again.
Because His Body is beautiful…and it isn’t a feeble frail Body…. it is abundant.
It isn’t wretched… it is something worth it all.
It is something so beautiful that One would die for it…it is that beautiful.
It is strong.
Those who respond to Him are beautiful.
I am so thankful…so immensely thankful.

So on this day I am what I celebrate and I celebrate…
…a strong Body.
…sitting to the right of a husband who is an amazing father and the man of my forever.
…a Remembrance of all that He has done.
…a beautiful creation.
…a community of never ceasing, always growing, always loving friends.

yes we bought those chairs because I figured they were timeless… but since then we have a hodge podge of fill in chairs for really full Sunday Dinners
