A Stack of Opportunity

January 28, 2013

sunrise

What if you were met with a  stack of opportunity when you woke up this morning?

I mean a tall stack…

something tall enough that when you stand next to it ,

your chin rests right there on top!

Tall.

A stack of inspiration

of creativity

of strength

of understanding.

Would you be sad about this gift?

Would you ignore it standing there?

Psalm 118:24
New King James Version (NKJV)

24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Because you are a started good work… it is your true  identity   … not the one the world gave you…. but one your Creator gave you.

So who are you?… Are you the sum of all the hurts?… or are you

The sum of all His strengths!

Are you in a day which you have scheduled or one which He has made… also a good work?

If  He is telling the truth…and He is … then this day He gave to you is something to celebrate.

You are what you celebrate… so celebrate your true identity:

as a good work

entering a day created by a Creator who creates good works.

and

Rejoice in it!

I need to set my mind on the things I am thankful for….

  1. Sweet emails from the UK which encouraged me greatly!
  2. Having the best readers in the world.
  3. A good snow.
  4. A nature walk with just him and I… (and well the baby, but she was zonked out.)
  5. Tea parties with a two year old.
  6. The new season of “An Idiot Abroad” started.
  7. A HusBen who, like me, wants the “next thing”.
  8. Milkshakes with the Hazelwoods.

Lovely post : ) I remember singing the song of this Psalm at church when I was a child, and thinking about how it sounded like a song of celebration, wondering in child-like awe at how we could celebrate ‘this’ day, simply because God had made it, and for that reason, it was a special day! Thanks for stirring that memory.
And the sky in your photos?! Wow! How incredibly glorious! I’ve never seen the sky looking like that before. Thank you for capturing and sharing God’s beauty.

“Are you in a day which you have scheduled or one that He has made”
Speaks right to the heart of it.
    Thank you my friend.

I really needed this reminder today. Thank you so very much! I woke up grumbling about what I had to do today when really, it was a good thing, something provided for me by God Himself. Strange how sometimes we grumble, even when given a gift!!!!!

The photographs in this one are just beautiful. It looks like there is crack in the sky and some kind of light from the other side is oozing through. Really beautiful. The truth of Scripture: this is His day for us, and it is good. It does not need us, but He chooses us to be part of the possibility of what He can do to beautify the day is truly amazing.
“Been counting and number gifts” since February 1st of 2012. A near year of this God has used to change my life. So glad there are other woman out there who likewise have been blessed and changed.

Incredible photos. You guys have been on our hearts so many times since we have been there. I finally just found you on the web. I have spent the last hour just reading your page. You are a beautiful writer and photographer. Thanks for sharing your life:) I don’t know if this is the best place for this, but I don’t have your email… so.. I just want you guys to know how much we were blessed by you taking us into your home. Alec and I feel like it was a God encounter for us. Your hospitality was so over the top! Our conversations were so rich. I feel like it would have been great if we just could have hung out with you guys more 🙂 It was sad to have to come in late and run out early. I think of our conversations often, you really inspired me!!! A beautiful, strong woman… fun, lighthearted mother… full of wisdom and love,… steadfast, supportive wife… WOW. That is all I can say. I was truly inspired. It was so refreshing to connect with you. you have an amazing family! Beautiful children. They were so loving and gracious, sharing their toys and giving up their room. Well, I am sorry it took me so long to get to the computer, but you really impacted us. We are so blessed. THANK YOU!!

Are you kidding me!?!?!?!?! I was up last night.. at around 2-3 am and I was thinking of you… remembering your time hear and praying for your family! This is blowing my mind! Your compliments are so sweet. You all were wonderful to be around and to talk with. I have referenced our conversations so many times.
Stacey Campbell was just contacting me yesterday… are you Canadians up to something, lol! Whatever it is I love it…lol…just kidding, but I am still reeling that I was just thinking and praying about you last night. IT goes without saying if you are ever in town you are welcome here.. or we can have dinner… you and Alec are amazing.
Going to think about what all this means.. because surely this isn’t all by coincidence.
      Love,
      T
