Almost ready to break…. ground.

I always wait till I can’t practically take it anymore.
They start marching in here in January and I squirrel them away.
Each bright catalog, promising spring.
A few sunny, albeit freezing days, have reminded me to get started with my plotting and planning.

This has been a cold winter….very grey too. Truthfully I feel this is the greyest winter in many years. Even the year that Noa was born was continual snowstorms… but you know how storms are they always bring bright skies…so there was always that. No, this winter has been very grey. No dots of 60*+ days…nada. We also didn’t get a ton of snow here…err, so far… so everything is brown, grey and cold.
Can you tell I am pretty much over this winter? I try and keep my chin up, but see: brown,grey and freezing.

I don’t know what I would have done this year with out my new studio. It captures all the light… grows all my plants…and that has helped. All this growth (in so many ways) has kept my spirits up as best it can.
So here we are and it is past mid-February!!!!
Yay!
Lent has started.
Time to start thinking about the spring garden and the summer garden! Not to mention all my friends who have recently gotten new homes…. they will need gardens too! There are peeps to order and fields to think about. I am thinking about selling the one horse because I need the space. So many ideas swirling about.
My beloved companion, Noa, trails behind me pipping along with, “Momma let’s talk about it” and “it’s not snowing I am going to wear my sparkly shoes” and “that looks great” and “can we paint about it?” So we do… we paint what we want, with sparkly shoes dangling….and we want sunshine and the smell of fresh broken earth.

(please excuse the flippant painting… we were just doodling about on cheap paper…. but I did like the idea of it… just not how it was carried out. Perhaps if I had used heavier paper)
