While Dinner Simmers…
While dinner simmers… she runs in, tiny blue flowers in hand. After the busy day I have had…not to mention the busy week… it is a sign to look up and look around… a long list of To-Do’s crossed off and dinner can tend itself for a bit. Who knew anything had bloomed!?
He plays his guitar…practicing for PFW tomorrow night. The door kicked open…an invitation to enjoy a warm day. All seven kids are outside finding treasures and soaking up the sun, kicking a ball and giggling.
The house is quite but for the guitar and the laughing.

All the peeps are out. All between different stages, two weeks between each group. Buff Orphingtons, Speckled Sussex, Brahmas and I am guessing the white ones ,which were freebies from a neighbor, are white cornish.
Mer sits on the warm deck…of course of all the children she would have a ladybug perched in her pigtail. It reminds me of her first day here after we got home from Guatemala…. When she was only 2 and she saw her first ladybug sitting on the table while she ate her lunch. “What is it?” she had asked me in toddler Spanish…. I didn’t know how to say ladybug in Spanish, I figure it didn’t much matter. “Laaaaayyyyyy DeeeeBuhg,” she kept saying… and she gave it a kernel of corn.
She has loved ladybugs ever since.

I came back in to check on dinner…. no harm in checking. There my oldest daughter tries out her new violin. After years of begging and even more years of piano…we are branching out. The three oldest are all learning the violin amongst their many other instruments. Pianos, guitars, drum sets, violins, recorders, cello, flutes and bass…we are acquiring quite a collection. I am sure I have forgotten something.
OH! Amongst my busy day of running about… I had a great time capturing this beautiful baby. She was the perfect model and was enamored with the camera. She was a delight to photograph.
You have such a wonderful family. My family too plays many instruments. Malia is in the Frederick, Maryland Symphony Chorus. She sings like an Angel which she is. Love, Opa
Oh how I miss my buff Orpingtons. The most docile hens we had the whole time we had our little farm.the part about the lady bug brought a tear to my eye. So God isn’t it. Have a blessed weekend.
what a wonderful day! xo
