The Voice in the Here.
Right now… in this here and now…
I am very aware of the voices….
some singing quietly to themselves as they go about their chores
some busying themselves with learning…”slugs have 4 noses?”
some wondering where Dad will be going today… you can imagine who that is.
a chirpy happy little three year old, “Momma it’s rainin rainin rainin”
and right beyond my studio window, right beyond the drip~drip~drop~little~April~showers is a chorus of mourning doves cooing to each other from the cyprus branches.
Everyone knows their morning rhythm… no direction needed from me…my voice rests quietly.
I can feel that *ping* the one I wait for… a Voice which changes me… molds me.
With paper and pencil He reminds me of dozens of “voice” references I have been given recently…
It’s funny when I began asking for a “new voice” (maybe 2years ago) I just wanted to sing better…like I once did, but new.
He had bigger plans… I see now this “new voice” will be much greater and more expansive than I ever thought.
All of this…just now… and just here.
~Take five minutes… maybe just 5 seconds…stop and listen. Is there a theme? What are you hearing from something greater than your own understanding?~

Wow…I loved your writing, but the little sentence at the end gave me goosebumps. Is there a theme? What am I hearing? I am learning to listen and connect the dots, but you are right, whether it is 5 minutes or 5 seconds, I’ve got to stop and listen to be able to see the greater themes. Thank you for this encouragement! God bless you!
That
IS
Awesome!
I hope the theme is HE is talking all the time…taking time just for you.

i am not sure about a theme… but i know at least part of it is to listen. ahh… yes. that’s been the word from Him i’ve been hearing! and thank God. i can be a better listener if i will listen to him first. loved your post.
so true… that is most definitely the first step… after that “hearing” and then understanding.
Blessings to you

Fabulous Post… I really enjoy the way you write… and your art always reflects your words so perfectly… I miss hearing 3 yr old voices singing and chattering around the house… very different world with a 16 year old in the house… still wonderful but I loved that chattery stage and the brightness of a young soul in the house… you captured it perfectly xx
thanks Tracey,
yes we treasure her chatty chipperness a ton!
