The force is always with me…
I warned the husBen a month or two ago, “Just a heads up… I am going to want new beds in the boys room… we have far too many visitors coming this year to not have our act together….and with the baby coming… I need our solid Plan B for bunks to be nailed down. We don’t need to do it now. But at some point I will be OCD about it.” The man who knows me oh~so~well nodded and laughed… this isn’t his first pregnancy rodeo (this is baby #8). There was the pregnancy of the scoured oven… The pregnancy of the excessively bleached towels….The one where I picked up a repulsion for loose feathers. I am sure he could tell you a few other labels…but he isn’t here right now. So ha!
Nothing gets me to jump on a To~Do list like the love of my life being out of town on business. One time when we first moved here he left and I got obsessed with building a chicken coop. I had never worked a drill in my life… but I built that coop and it was amazing! Of course he never heard the end of it..so when we got the new barn, he had the contractor build a chicken coop palace…so he never had to hear about my coop again…of course he wouldn’t ever admit that!
I had to assemble my team. I drafted my favorite girl to watch the kids so all the seats could be put down in my vehicle…and I went off to get the new bunks. Sure I could have waited for my 6foot something husBen with a farm truck to get home…but what fun would that be? He wouldn’t get home till today (and this was yesterday)…and we have 80,000 bees coming today …and umm… I am more than capable (Just ask the chickens from that 1st coop). Some could call me hard headed about things like this. But you should be proud… this time,I hired a young twenty something to come build the bunks…because my little pregnant self really shouldn’t be lifting bunks on top of each other (at least that is what they tell me…verdict is out on if this is true or not. I lean towards not) . Oh but then the strapping young 20something got held up at work and couldn’t be here till 5:30… it was 3pm.

Do you know how this story will end?
If you guessed, me politely telling the strong able bodied 20something,
“Oh that’s okay.. I got this. Never mind I can handle it…Thank you so much for trying.”
(I mean…it was 3pm…and 5pm was far away.)
Then you are right.
And that, is just what I did.
Good for you and they look great! But about that lifting…..
lol… what’s done is done… and a girl can’t wait.

This made me laugh . . . I rearranged our kitchen when I was pregnant with our first little one. And I don’t mean moving the silverware from one drawer to another. The refrigerator got moved, the cabinets (newly purchased and not secured yet) found a better arrangement, etc. The urge to rearrange came over me and I didn’t want to wait for my husband to get home from work, so the only option was to do it myself!
Oh
my
goodness!
I love it! great story and I so understand.

Woman after my own heart! I see you had plenty of help! 🙂
