A Beautiful Mess.

He sat with his brother in front of the fire in my studio… the world outside blanketed in an unexpected after Christmas snow, “If I could have one wish I wish it was Christmas every day.” I sipped my tea, curled up listening.
Christmas is every day.
Everyday you wake up there is a big mess of wrappings…
a big mess of strings which tie up…
a big mess of things you should celebrate but you are distracted by work..
a big mess of unopened gifts…
its all scattered about
in every relationship
in every place you go
in every day you open your eyes … it’s there.
This beautiful mess that if you look with new eyes… you will see, that while you slept ,He piled your gifts for the day very high.
You may have to clear away old wrappings…
You may have to open new gifts and learn new things…
But every day He has piled them high
Wake up expecting Christmas everyday

T-I swear I heard your voice in my kitchen last night, as I was making dinner I heard “you are enough” and I thought of your post a few months back. This came during the video on CMT for “If Tomorrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks where I realized he was singing to his daughter in it and it caused me to think of my children including the question “do they know how much I love them?”. My father who passed too young and all the mirad of emotions that came along with that and the answer rang clear in “you are enough”. I look forward to your daily reminders of how his love can overcome anything, thank you for being an inspiration of strength and humility! Hope you and your family have a Happy New Year!
