Warm Days in the Spring Garden

I needed something beautiful.  We cut down the grasses last week…so the planters which flank our main door looked dry and boring.  Not too much you can do about that this time of year.  So I thought a few nodding Violas would fill the space till I could get something better.  What mother doesn’t want a chorus of happy nods while she juggles groceries through the door!

I really like Buttercrunch lettuce so I bought two little six packs of those at the farm store.  The little green wavy wisps remind me where we are heading…and give me something green to look at until everything else takes off.

I also bought some Bull’s Blood beets seeds…but they bed they go in had a mouse…or two or three or a tribe in it…and I am waiting till my sons can get in there and turn the soil and assure me there are no more creatures. I like the Bull’s Blood beets because the leaves are a dark maroon and I love the splash of color in the garden , opposed to the limey green of normal beets.  Onions go in the mouse bed too…so they are sitting in their brown bag until that bed is certified mouse free.

So cute.

She was just out there making a little cake…a birthday cake for Miss Jessie…while we planted.

She had seen us making cakes (for Miss Jessie’s birthday tomorrow) in the morning and thought she would try it out herself .

Look at the candles all perfectly placed.

She is cute right?

So cute for her to make cakes and fancy herself a little baker…so adorable right?

Oh it’s all cute and sweet and nostalgic until I come in here to blog for five minutes  and Cal comes in and stands at the door …

“ummm, momma it’s okay that the baby ate the tops off your cakes, right?”

Not cute, kid.

Not.

Cute.

I will see you at Prayer~Fast~Worship tonight? I have a feeling it will be great. Considering the last few weeks have been amazing. If He is talking…and He is.. I want to hear it…do you want to come and listen with me? Well either way I will give you a full report when I get back. Throw some prayers for us, will you? Thanks, you are great!~T

The greens look great! We’re just getting some seeds into the soil. And I hope the cake tasting becomes cute over time!

Oh a little mouse family in your garden. 😉
And a darling baby girl with a paci……
Love me some baby cheeks with a mouth full of paci……
Chocolate is always good….. no matter what.

      oh you are cute.
she calls her pacifiers yaya’s… and she would have one in her mouth and the rest ringing her fingers if she could.
The cake did turn out well…nothing a little more chocolate can’t fix.

and really all that matters is that the rest of those cakes… are certified mouse free!
    have fun celebrating!
