Connected in Adoption
There is so much doubt from everyone in the process of adoption.
Given enough time the questions come and people would wonder…”When the girls get here…. what if they don’t connect with you…what if it doesn’t work out”
My answer was always the same, “If they never look at me as more then an aunt…I can live with that…I just want them to be happy and loved.”
“Yes…”, occasionally someone would gather up the guts or whathaveyou to ask, “But what if they are too broken to connect?”
My girls…all of my children have big huge love filled hearts. No matter how they got here.
We connect because we see the connection.
When Yen and Mer would watch me with big brown eyes quiet a baby…their hearts quieted too. When one of their brothers would help them when they fell,or when others couldn’t understand the words coming out of their mouth and their syblings would step in…they connected.
Each time they jumped in the water and we caught them safe… they learned and made a valuable connection
Every single time their Dad comes home from a business trip they connect on a real level that they will never be abandoned again.
Our family is connected not because we are all blood related… but because each of us…
no matter how we got here, has looked around and been taught that to connect here…
is safe…
it is home.
Linking up with Gypsy Mama today and the word is connected. If you wrote a post please leave a comment so I can find yours. I
Lovely. And another connection – connected to others who have adopted. We are no longer alone . . . our children are no longer alone. A perfect gift, or gifts, of the spirit of adoption. Amen indeed!
So true!
Love it.

Beautiful! Isn’t it wonderful how the deepest connections are often not ‘blood’ connections? And I completely agree with Yana, that bunny is oh-so cute! Loved your post, thanks for sharing 🙂
