Painting the hives to match.

Oh what a relaxing, yet productive day we had yesterday. My young friend stopped by , just as the sun broke through the clouds. I am sure that isn’t a coincidence. She convinced me to abandon my busy errands. What a lovely idea. I pulled out the unfinished beehives which needed to be painted before Friday’s bees show up. One hive is a soft lavender and the other a light yellow green (much lighter than the picture appears). I am painting the new ones different colors because last year it was helpful to talk of the Silver or Copper Kingdom hive. The new hives have the same roofs so I needed a different way to describe them. I suppose I could have just numbered the hives … but that seems rather boring, doesn’t it?
So we sat and talked while my kids played. The sun and blooms were beautiful. The cherry blossoms are just all a flare. The daffodils nodding as if they enjoy our conversation and heartily agree. The peach trees are a few days away from taking over where the cherry trees will fade. The apple trees and tulips are right behind them and I am so excited to see all my grapevines in bud. We had a nonsensical dinner of apple cake and grapes.
